The Ford Fiesta was a world car that is long lost on high technology, even though it had more soul, was more fun to drive, and did so with equal or better gas mileage and than most modern economy cars sold today.

i had the liberty of driving a '78 Sport model as an office go-getter for several years. The front-wheel-drive Kent 1600cc inline four cylinder was basically the same engine from the Cortina MkII and offered plenty of pep and was truely a diehard. Wheelspin and torque steer was there if you drove it hard, but then that was a part of the fun of it. A Mercedes it wasn't, but then it was a fine German-engineered car that did what it was designed for very well indeed.
