The Great Texas Roundup 2003

Welcome to our humble Capri Club "roundup" page for 2003.

We had a great time again this 3rd year.

Fred Nahr from Kansas won the long distance award at over 300 miles. Then Jerry Olson at 241 miles.
Dave Lammarouex at 238 miles. Frank Richardson at 51 miles, Hugh Kelly at 60 feet.

Thanks to Hugh for his Texas hospitality.
The barbeque was delicious, the beer was cold, the car talk was boot-deep, just the way we like it.

Thanks to CCNA for their help and support along with trophy donations.

Here are a few of our cars:

Hugh Kelly

Frank Richardson
Garland, Tx.
1972 Capri, 2.6, 4spd, sunroof.
Bored .040 over, Erson cam, lifters, aluminum timing gears, dual exhaust, 14" Enkies
This car was an original vinyl roof car (and yellow).
Frank has had this car quite awhile, in fact busted his first knuckle on this one.
Check out the bumperette spikes. You don't mess with Frank and his Capri.

Jerry Olson
Bellville, Tx
1976 Ghia, 2.8, 4spd, sunroof, power steering,
true duals with cats, factory rear spoiler added, 15x7" Enkies, 205-5- & 225-50-15s.
Needing everything, but Jerry insists it should run forever,
which is what he said two years ago and still hasn't worked on it.
Besides a failing alternator Saturday night, it still limped back
the one-hour drive in the dark to Hugh's...
"I expect it to, so the car just doesn't know any better than not to get me there."

Fred Nahr
Kansas
1973 Capri with 302 crate motor,
aluminum heads, headers, March pulleys, T5, 9" disc brake rearend.
Much, much more. No fuzzy dice.
Since has run a first-time, limited-traction 14.02 @ 102mph qtr mile.

Part of the gang at Arlington Field auto swap meet on Saturday (sorry Hugh, we lost you in the parking lot).
If you guys have never been to a major swap meet, come on over to ours. You'll sure to find something if you look hard enough, such as NOS Capri keychains.

The gang in Hugh's stable.

In the background are 73 & 77 Capris of Hugh's avaiting ressurection.
And outside another 74 and yet another...
so if we cheat a little, we can profess that in this gathering there
were a total number of 9 Capris in attendance.
