These first photos are of it's first time out of the shop since 1977. Frame, Flathead and drivetrain had previously been rebuilt, and waiting for 13 years to see the light of day! This car was built as a hot rod in the mid-60s to travel a daily commute between Bellville and Houston. The body was found for $50, at the time it was being used as a chicken coupe. It was fit onto a narrowed & bobbed '51 Lincoln frame with a 406 with 428 crank, Shelby cam & intake, 850 Holley, 406 cast iron headers, backed by a C6 with overdrive and 9" rear. Car was complete with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows. The interior featured rolled iridescent green Naugahyde and the green plexiglass roof insert. It ran my father back and forth, quickly, to work at Joe Meyers Ford on Westheimer for many years, and never got it's fenders. A few years later, he finally got started on bodywork, and painted the grille shell and hood green. A little later, he was involved in a collision with a car sideways at the bottom of an icy overpass on I-10 in Houston. Luckily it only resulted in serious bruises, a totalled grille and hood, and a bent Lincoln frame. An original replacement grille and hood was procured within a short time after the accident. Photo below shows original hood section salvaged from wreck, painted in , .

Here's the car the next year, sporting steel wheels and a fresher coat of primer.
To go back a few years as to where it all started, find a few pics of my father's first 32, in various stages.
